The originator of such a dish was the Mexican restaurateur Caezar Cardini, who one day struggled with the problem of shortages in supplies. An attempt to prepare a perfect snack with a limited set of available ingredients turned out to be a culinary success. Caesar salad quickly gained popularity and has undergone a number of modifications. For example, in Mexico, Caesar salad without croutons is a complement to tortilla fritters.
