With first roots in ancient Rome, Polenta is a popular Italian side dish that can be cooked and served like a porridge – or baked (once cooked) on a sheet pan and then reheated and pan seared, baked or grilled. Franck Instant Polenta (Instant Kukuruzna Krupica) is made with only one ingredient: high quality corn grits. Because our Instant Polenta only takes 2-3 minutes to prepare (versus 30-40 minutes with traditional corn grits), you can spend the time saved focusing on the other elements of your meal! To prepare whisk Franck Instant Polenta into salted boiling water, stirring vigorously. Then add butter, and cheese (optional) to the mixture and combine until melted. Polenta is classically enjoyed topped with meat or meat ragùs. For a seafood-inspired entrée, top with grilled shrimp, scallops or lobster. Serve with roasted butternut squash, pan sautéed wild mushrooms and spinach to “wow” your vegetarian guests. For an elegant appetizer, cut our cooked polenta into squares or circles, pan sauté and top with Gorgonzola cheese or tomato sauce and grated parmesan cheese.
